The floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) in Lampung, operated by PT PGN LNG Indonesia, a subsidiary of IDX-listed gas distribution firm PT PGN Tbk, has received a fifth LNG cargo from the Tangguh LNG plant in West Papua.

?PGN today has completed loading of the fifth LNG cargo, out of the (total) eight LNG cargoes allocated by the Tangguh plant (for the FSRU) this year,? said PGN LNG President Director Mugiono in a statement Thursday.

The fifth LNG cargo was delivered from the Tangguh plant using the Tangguh Towuti vessel and arrived in Lampung on September 4, the statement said. ?The volume of the fifth LNG cargo is 137,700 cubic meters,? Mugiono added.

The FSRU Lampung received the first cargo from Tangguh on April 24, also at a volume of 137,500 cubic meters.

The LNG will undergo regasification process at the FSRU before being transmitted via an underwater pipeline to the Labuan Maringgai receiving station, which is connected with the South Sumatra West Java gas network. The gas will be used to meet demand from customers in the western part of Java and southern part of Sumatra including gas-fired power plants.

The FSRU Lampung has an LNG storage capacity of 170,000 cubic meters, and regasification capacity of 240 mmscfd. PGN has also developed mining LNG sea transportation vessels to deliver gas from the FSRU to power plants.
