FSRU Semarang to get LNG supply from IDD project

Upstream authority SKK Migas has allocated 1.3 mtpa of LNG per annum from the Indonesia Deepwater Development project in Makassar Strait to an LNG receiving terminal to be built by state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina offshore Semarang, the capital of Central Java.

The gas that will be received by the Floating Storage and Regassification Unit (FSRU) Semarang will be transmitted through a pipeline to Gresik, the industrial center in East Java.

?The minister (of energy and mineral resources) has decided that FSRU Semarang will get LNG allocation from IDD and Muara Bakau projects in the amount of 1.3 mtpa. This is expected to initiate the pipeline projects linking Semarang to Gresik and Semarang to Cirebon,? SKK Migas? Commercial Control Deputy Widhyawan Prawiraatmadja told Petromindo.com

The IDD project, which is being developed by PT Chevron Indonesia Company, is expected to come onstream in 2016. The project combines several PSCs located in Makassar Strait, including Ganal, Rapak, Makassar Strait and Muara Bakau block.
