FSRU to head for Lampung in Q1, 2014

State gas distributor PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) expects the vessel that is being modified into an FSRU for its Lampung FSRU project to be ready to sail from South Korea within a year.

?The Lampung FSRU will be ready to leave Korea for Lampung by the first quarter of next year,? President Director Hendi Prio Santoso told petromindo.com.

Hendi said that at present, the construction has reached the keel laying stage.

Separately, SKK Migas Chairman Rudi Rubiandini said the agency supports the development of the Lampung FSRU project, saying that it may allow gas supply from imports in the beginning.

?Gas-starving industries are waiting for this project. Some of them are dying. The Lampung FSRU could use gas imports in the early years, and after some of the country?s large upstream gas projects come on stream then the FSRU could use domestic source for its gas supply. So, I fully support the development of the Lampung FSRU.? Rudi told petromindo.com.
