Fuel prices unchanged for June

Pertamina has decided to maintain the price of most fuel products for transportation and industry for June, except for jet fuel and fuel oil for industry, which has been raised by 0.6 percent, The Jakarta Post, the Kompas and the Koran Tempo newspapers reported in their Tuesday edition.

The company announced on Monday the price of fuel oil for industry would rise from Rp1,560 per liter in May to Rp1,600 this month.

The prices for the jet fuels Avgas and Avtur are now Rp5,280 and Rp2,740 per liter respectively, excluding a 10 percent value added tax. In May, the prices for Avgas and Avtur, including the 10 percent VAT, were Rp5,467 and Rp2,575 respectively.

The remaining fuel prices were unchanged. Premium fuel for industry is Rp2,100 per liter, kerosene Rp2,200 per liter, automotive diesel fuel Rp2,100 per liter and industrial diesel fuel Rp2,050.

The price of premium gasoline at gas pumps will remain flat at Rp1,810 per liter, while the price of kerosene is still Rp1,800 per liter.

Pertamina's high-quality gasoline brands Pertamax and Pertamax Plus will remain at Rp2,750 per liter and Rp2,450 per liter respectively.

Pertamina decides new fuel prices every month based on prices in neighboring Singapore and exchange rate developments. But the government has decided not to raise fuel prices during the elections. (*)
