Fuel smuggling cases to speed up reshuffle at Pertamina: Minister

The current fuel smuggling cases will become the basis for the government to speed up the planned reshuffle at state oil and gas Pertamina, Investor Daily newspaper reported on Wednesday quoting State Minister of State Enterprises Sugiharto.

Sugiharto said that the rampant fuel smuggling indicated the weak performance of the current management.

?This can speed up the process of replacement of directors. As mentioned by the President there is a need for change,? Sugiharto said in Jakarta on Tuesday after opening Danareksa?s Investment Center.

However, he said the change of directors will depend on the decision of the evaluation team, which is lead by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono himself.

He admitted that it will not be easy to find the right people to lead Pertamina.

Sugiharto said he had issued the second warning letter to the Pertamina?s board of directors during its meeting on Monday.(*)
