State-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina said Monday it would use the recent disbursement of Rp 4.2 trillion in fuel subsidy from the government to shore up the reserves of fuel products to safe level.
The company president Widya Purnama said the national fuel stocks were currently only enough to cover 17.5 days of consumption, below the safe level of 20 days.
Widya said gasoline stock was only enough for 12.7 days of consumption, while the diesel was only sufficient for 14.5 days. Meanwhile, stocks of other fuel products stand above the safe levels.
Widya said Pertamina targeted to achieve the safe stock level for all products by June 25. (godang)
