Fuel tanker explodes, causing two deaths

An oil tanker called MT Putri I exploded Friday evening on the waters of East Flores in East Nusa Tenggara Province, causing two deaths, seven people seriously injured and one missing, the Media Indonesi daily reported on Monday.
The vessel was pumping out fuel to state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina's depot in Larantuka, East Flores, when it exploded. The tanker was distributing fuel products as the province had suffered from fuel shortage problem.
The police said it was still investigating the incident.(*)
