Analysts say the main task of the future leader of state oil and gas company Pertamina is transforming the company into a world-class, profit oriented organization.
Former advisor of the Ministry of Mines and Energy Ramses O. Hutapea said on Thrusday in a seminar titled "Finding Future Leader of Pertamina" that during these crucial times, Pertamina's leader should not only understand oil and gas industry and also has a deep understanding of the company's core business and how it operates.
Legislator Pramono Anung, who was also speaker in the seminar, said Pertamina's future leader should break the bureaucratic tradition of the state company. That's why the government wanted to place an outsider to lead the company, he said.
The seminar, organized by mines and energy reporters, was held as the government is selecting candidates for Pertamina's leadership to replace Martiono Hadianto. (*)
