Gag Nikel expects to obtain production license by May

PT Gag Nikel, a wholly owned subsidiary of IDX- listed mining firm PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (Antam), expects to obtain a production license from the government in May of this year at the latest.

Ady Taufik Yudisia, Gag's Operational Director told Petromindo.com on Wednesday that the company is trying to obtain the license as soon as possible. "The target from our holding company (Antam), (the license) is supposed to be in May 2017, but we?ll try to get it as soon as possible," he said.

Ady revealed that currently the company is still in the construction phase, before entering production phase, as it is one of the stages that should be prepared for obtaining the production license. "While we are developing the construction, we are also preparing all the documents needed for obtaining the production license," he said.

Ady added that the company is still targeting to commence production of nickel ores in Gag Island, West Papua Province, in the second semester of this year.
