Gas blowouts at Ramba field

PT Pertamina EP said that a gas blowouts incident occurred at the MJ 89 well in the Ramba field in South Sumatra Sunday afternoon (5.30 p.m.) after irresponsible illegal miners opened up the seal of the well head.
A team from the company quickly arrived at the location in Beruge Village in Babat Toman District, and managed to control the situation and secure the area to prevent impact to the local villagers.
Public Relations Manager of PT Pertamina EP deplores the incident, and said that the company will continue to work closely with the Indonesian military and the police to curb the activities of the illegal miners at its working areas.
