The fire which hit the Tanu gas field in East Kalimantan did not affect gas supply to liquefied natural gas producer Badak NGL which is located in Bontang in the nothern part of the province, Koran Tempo reported on Tuesday.

?Up to now, the gas supply for the Badak plant is still normal,? Siddick Nitikusuma, the spokesman for Pertamina?s production sharing management.

He said that the Tanu gas field only supplies about three percent of the LNG plant?s natural gas needs. The other gas is supplied by TonalFinaElf Indonesia, Vico and Unocal.

The Badak Natural Gas Liquefaction plant sells its production to Japan, South Korea and Taiwan. (*)
