Gas producers, transporters and consumers are holding a meeting on Thursday, organized by the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry, to discuss the nation's gas supply and demand balance from 2014 to 2030.

The meeting, which is taking place at the office of fertilizer producer PT Pupuk Kujang in Cikampek, will mainly focus on the availability of gas supply for domestic customers, said Vice Minister Susilo Siswoutomo to Petromindo.com.

Susilo chairs the meeting.

President Director of PT Pertagas Hendra Jaya told Petromindo.com that industry players, including gas infrastructure developers, need certainty over the availability of gas in the long run, pointing as an example that Pertagas would need 400-500 mmscfd of gas for its Gresik-Semarang pipeline.

"Among others, we will also ask for explanation over the open access policy," Hendra said.

Hendi Prio Santoso, President Director of PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN), meanwhile told Petromindo.com that PGN is hoping that the meeting could lead to a better management of gas, the one that could promote the development of gas infrastructure in the country.
