Gas injection at Banyu Urip field resumed

Gas injection at Banyu Urip field in the Cepu block, Bojonegoro regency, East Java, has now started running again after having been shut down a few times, according to an official at the upstream authority SKK Migas.
"Gas injection started operating in early May of this year in the Train A, while Train B at the end of May, but it had been shut down several times. Now it starts running again," Unit Head for Acceleration of Banyu Urip Project at SKK Migas, Julius Wiratno told Petromindo.com.
Julius said that the block?s operator had started injecting gas into wells, although still at the stage of observation and stabilization.
He added that the daily production of the Cepu block reached 185,000 bopd.
The Cepu block, located in the border areas of Central Java and East Java, is one of the prime oil and gas projects in the country. The block is jointly operated by ExxonMobil Cepu Ltd (EMCL), a unit of ExxonMobil Oil Indonesia, and PT Pertamina EP Cepu (PEPC), a subsidiary of state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina (Persero).
