The gas injection facility at Banyu Urip field in Cepu block, Bojonegoro regency, East Java, will be completed in April, according to an official at upstream authority SKK Migas.

?The progress of EPC-1 (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) has reach 99 percent, and is estimated to be completed around May or June. Its gas injection facility is projected to be completed at the end of April,? Unit Head for Acceleration of Banyu Urip Project at SKK Migas, Julius Wiratno told Petromindo.com.

He added that sulfur recovery will be completed in late May.

Previously, Deputy of Operations Control of SKK Migas Muliawan said the production from Banyu Urip field may peak at 165,000 bpd in April of this year once the gas injection facility has come into operation.

The Banyu Urip field has recently reached the production level of approximately 150,000 bopd. The production was achieved without the operation of the Early Production Facility (EPF) and the Early Oil Expansion (EOE). EPF and EOE are rental facilities whose contract expired in the second week of last January.

The Cepu block, located in the border areas of Central Java and East Java, is one of the prime oil and gas projects in the country. The block is jointly operated by ExxonMobil Cepu Ltd (EMCL), a unit of ExxonMobil Oil Indonesia, and PT Pertamina EP Cepu (PEPC), a subsidiary of state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina (Persero).
