Gas pipeline network development accelerated

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources along with state owned oi land gas firm PT Pertamina (Persero) and state gas distributor PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) will accelerate the development of gas pipelines to households across the country, the ministry said in a statement.
Last year, a total of 203,100 gas connections to households were built in 21 towns of 11 provinces, including 89,459 connections built using the state budget and the rest using non-state budget.
This year, the ministry will build a total of 4,000 gas connections in Lhok Sukon and Pekanbaru using state budget. Meanwhile, Pertamina will build 4,600 connections in Prabumulih and Jambi using its own budget, while PGN 15,000 connections in nine cities, such as Surabaya, Sidoarjo, Pasuruan, Cirebon, Palembang, Jabodetabek and Medan.
