The price of gas sold by producers or gas pipeline distributors allocated as transportation fuel has been set at a maximum of US$4.72/mmbtu.
The cap is stipulated under the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministerial Decree No.2261 K/12/MEM/2013 signed on May 8, the copy of which was made available to petromindo.com on Thursday.
The regulation stipulated that;
a. In the event of PoD having level of economies that is cheaper than the maximum set price, then the selling price will use the cheaper one.
b. In the event of PoD having level of economies that is more expensive than the maximum set price, then the $4.72/mmbtu price cap will remain valid.
The price can be adjusted only when there is a change in price for gas fuel sold to retail customers.
