Gas production and state income continually grow

State income from the oil and gas industry has always exceeded the target set in the state budget during the last few years. So has been the gas production.

?The increase of state income was based on data during the last five years, while the increase of production was based on data since the year 1977,? SKMIGAS Public Relations, Safety, and Formality Division Head Hadi Prasetyo said in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He said that in 2007, the realization of state income from the oil and gas industry was US$23,79 billion. It had been steadily increasing and reached US$35,79 billion in 2011.

The data, he said, had shown the significance of oil and gas contribution to the social welfare as all of the income had been channeled to the state budget for the benefit of all Indonesians.

During the period of 1977 and 1983, the gas production averaged at 513.000 barrels equivalent of oil per day (boepd) or 2,975 mmscfd. ?During the period 2007 to 2012, the gas production has increased to an average of 1.49 million boepd or at an average of 8,120 mmscfd,? he said.

?With the rise of gas production we?re increasingly able to allocate more for the domestic need. Since 2003 to 2012, the gas allocation for domestic market has increased by 250%. It also means to increase the state income,? he said.

?We hope that in the future we can continue increasing our state income from the oil and gas industry and also raising our gas allocation for domestic market,? he added.
