Natural gas production this year is estimated to reach 1.5 million barrels of oil equivalent per day, far higher than the 900,000 barrels of oil per day.
Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Jero Wacik said in line with Indonesia's growing economy, more and more natural gas will be allocated for domestic market as demand increases.
For 2012, up to 46.2 percent of gas production was sold to overseas buyers.
Wacik said to cope with the rising domestic market allocation, the government is committed to developing gas infrastructure across the country.
