Gas shows in Lapindo?s E. Java Grati-1 well

Australian oil, gas company Novus Petroleum Limited announced on Wednesday that exploration drilling in Grati-1 well in Brantas production sharing contract, East java had reached the planned total depth of 853 meters in 8.5 inches hole.
The company said at that depth, the drilling was still in the reservoir and gas shows had been observed through the current reservoir slice. As such, the Operator is reviewing the well plan, which may lead to deepening of the well, prior to acquiring wireline logs & pressure data.
Grati-1 is the third and final well of the current exploration drilling programme in the Brantas PSC was spudded on 15 February 2002.
