Gas supply for power plants in 2017 secured

The government has allocated 58.32 cargoes of LNG for state-owned electricity firm PT PLN to meet the gas requirement of the entire gas-fired power plants in the country next year, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Monday.
The paper quoted Director General of Oil and Gas at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, IGN Wiratmaja Puja as saying that the allocated LNG cargoes for next year is actually higher than the estimated demand of 51.18 cargoes. ?So, there?s an excess of seven cargoes,? he said.
The paper said that the LNG allocation for power plants next year include 4.8 cargoes from IDD Bangka project, 17 cargoes from the LNG sales contract of Mahakam block to Nusantara Regas, 20 cargoes from BP contract with PLN, ENI Tranche A and B via Pertamina 12 cargoes, and supply from Wasambo gas field in Central Kalimantan 4.5 cargoes.(*)
