Gas supply from Kodeco to Gresik power plant back to normal

An official of South Korea?s Kodeco energy which operates the block told Petromindo.Com that due to constrain by the weather, the company needed two days to repair the leakage.
As previously reported by Suara Pembaruan daily on Saturday, the leakage, which was detected on February 27, had caused supply to Gresik combined cycle power plant fell to 60 MMCFD from the normal level of 90 MMCFD.
An official from PT PLN Pembangkit Jawa Bali II (PJB II) in Gresik, confirmed that gas supply from Kodeco is getting back to normal.
?Electricity generating activity during the shortage was not affected since we get an additional gas supply around 5 to 10 MMCFD BP?s Pagerungan gas field to make up Kodeco's gas supply shortage,? said Iskandar, a fuel supply division engineer at Gresik power plant.
Kodeco operates West Madura production sharing contract in East Java. In September last year, the company signed a renewal contract with PJB II to supply to East Java 90 MMCFD of natural gas, up from the 73 MMCFD stipulated in the old contract.
PJB II, a unit of state power company PLN in charge of Java and Bali, operates a three combined cycle power plants, with total capacity of 1,500 megawatts in Gresik, East Java. (robert)
