Gas supply is key to industries? growth

Ministry of Industry said the gas supply availability will be the key for the country?s industrial sector to achieve its full-year?s output growth target of 7.14 percent.
Director General of Manufacturing-based Industries Panggah Susanto said on Wednesday that gas has been the main growth driver in many top manufacturing industries in the country such as ceramics, glasses, metal, textiles and about 19 other industrial sectors.
If the availability of gas supply can be guaranteed, Panggah said the output growth target is within reach.
Panggah said gas needs for industrial sector continue to rise. At present, the industries need about 2,130 mmscfd of gas supply.
