Supply of gas from PT Semberani Persada Oil (Semco) to the 100 MW-gas turbine power plant in Tanjung Batu, East Kalimantan has much decreased since 2013 due to reserve depletion, according to a senior official of the state-owned electricity company PT PLN (Persero).

Semco is a gas producer in East Kalimantan that operates fields under a Technical Assistance Contract (TAC) with state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina (Persero).

?Our power plant thus now uses oil fuel, instead? PLN's Senior Manager of Primary Energy Planning and Evaluation Chairani Rachmatullah told Petromindo.com.

He explained that in line with the contract, Semco should still supply 30 mmscfd of gas to PLN's Tanjung Batu power plant. However, the supply has continued to decrease to 13 mmscfd recently.

"Currently, the supply is only at 2 mmscfd,? she said.
