Upstream authority SKK Migas said that the volume of gas allocated for the domestic market this year will be greater than the export volume.

?We assure that the allocation for the domestic market will be larger than export,? Chairman of SKK Migas Rudi Rubiandini said Thursday. He pointed out that gas allocated for the domestic market this year will reach 4 billion mmscfd, while export volume is projected at 3.8 billion mmscfd.

Rudi said that gas allocated for the domestic market will be even larger in the future to help support economic activities in the country as new gas exploration projects are being carried out this year, which has been declared as the year of exploration.

?This (volume for the domestic market) of course will further increase in the future as many gas projects are being carried out this year,? he said.

He added that with the greater gas allocation for the domestic market, more floating storage and regasification units (FSRUs) would be required.
