Director General of Oil and Gas at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources IGN Wiratmaja Puja said that 22 gasoline stations will be built in remote regions next year to support the government?s new one-price fuel policy.
Wiratmaja said in a statement on Friday that the gasoline stations will be built by companies assigned to distribute fuel products in the regions such as state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina.
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Ignasius Jonan had on November 10 signed Ministerial Regulation No 36/2016 on the implementation of one-price fuel policy so that fuel products such as automotive diesel, Premium gasoline, and kerosene will have the same price particularly in remote regions of eastern part of Indonesia with prices in central and western part of the country. The new policy is expected to be effective January 1, 2017.
Wiratmaja said that the government has already produced a roadmap for the development of new gasoline stations in the regions including 45 new stations in 2018, 29 in 2019 and 12 in 2020.
He said that margins for gasoline stations in regions where fuel consumption volume is relatively low will be higher than in regions where fuel consumption volume is higher.
