China firm GB Clean Energy Ltd. (GBCE) announced Tuesday that Benjamin Wiley has been appointed as Managing Director. His focus area will be on building the GBCE business in Indonesia.
Prior to joining GBCE, Wiley served as a Managing Director and Head of the Metals and Mining sector in Asia for Standard Chartered Bank. He possesses over 25 years of investment banking experience in Indonesia and Asia.
?I am delighted to welcome Wiley as the new Managing Director. This appointment reflects our commitment to building a significant position in Indonesia?s coal industry with our coal upgrading technologies. Wiley brings with him a wealth of expertise and a presence built over many years advising Indonesian coal companies,? GBCE International Vice Chairman, Steve Chu, said in a statement.
GBCE develops and operates coal processing plants that upgrade low calorific value (CV), high moisture coals into high CV coals. The plants use GBCE?s proprietary LiMaxTM technologies which produce high CV coals that will not re-absorb moisture and are transportable over long distances. GBCE?s plant in Inner Mongolia is the first coal upgrading plant to produce upgraded coals in commercial quantities, supplying power plants and other industrial users in Northern China.
