Golden Concord Holdings Limited (GCL), a China based integrated energy group that specializes in clean and new energy, aims to complete the development of a 2x100 MW coal fired power plant in West Kalimantan by 2019.

Roger Goh, Vice President of the company, told Petromindo.com on Wednesday that the project is currently at the land acquisition stage.

"We have already obtained the environmental license (Amdal), and we are expecting to sign financial closure soon," he said, adding that the construction stage is expected to start at the end of this year.

Roger revealed that the power purchase agreement (PPA) with state-owned electricity firm PT PLN for the project was signed in April 2016. The project involves PT Indonesia Power, a subsidiary of PLN, with a 35 percent stake. GCL holds the majority stake of 65 percent in the estimated US$400 million power plant project.
