GE eyes industrial power plant market for turbine technology

PT General Electric Industrial Energy Solution is eying power plant projects with capacity of less than 135 MW in Indonesia next year as market for its geared reaction turbine (GRT) technology.

?We provide industrial power solution to meet technology requirement in steam power plant development in Indonesia,? said Arief Nur Budiman, Sales Director at GE Industrial Power Solution in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He claimed that GRT is an efficient and flexible turbine technology designed for application in steam power plants for the manufacturing industry.

The GRT turbine is produced by PT Alstom Grid and Alstom Power, which have been acquired by GE Global a few years ago. The technology has been applied at the 6 MW power plant owned by fertilizer firm PT Petrokimia Gresik, and at the 32 MW power plant owned by fertilizer firm PT Pusri in 2013.
