GE eyes order for 3 GW turbines in 35 GW project

US-diversified business group General Electric (GE) expects to receive orders for a total of 3,000 MW turbines from the developers of 35,000 MW power projects.
George Arie W. Djohan, Country Leader for GE Gas Power Systems in Indonesia told Petromindo.com on Tuesday that the company has thus far secured orders for around 700 MW turbines to be installed at several power plant projects.
"We have secured orders for around 700 MW turbines. One of the turbines has been installed at the Gorontalo gas power plant with the total capacity of 100 MW," he said adding that for the rest of the orders is expected to be received this year.
George added that the company is currently participating in a number of tenders to provide turbines for Independent Power Producer (IPP) projects.
The company is offering two kinds of gas turbine technology for the 35,000 MW projects, namely ?Aeroderivative gas turbine? and ?The 9HA high efficiency, air-cooled gas turbine?.
