IDX-listed coal miner PT Golden Energy Mines Tbk (GEMS) said on Friday that it has completed a number of infrastructure facilities near its mines in Jambi and South Kalimantan.

GEMS, which is part of the well-diversified Sinar Mas Group, said in a filing with the Indonesia Stock Exchange that a 31.9 Km hauling road linking its Nilau coal mine with the Nilau port in Tanjung Jabung Regency, Jambi Province, has been completed.

Developed by subsidiary PT Tanjung Belit Bara Utama, the hauling road has a capacity of up to 3 million metric tons per annum.

GEMS said that its Nilau coal terminal, which has a capacity of 3 million tons per annum, will ?soon start operation,? with shipment target of 50,000 tons per month, or 600,000 tons per year.

In addition to the Teluk Nilau mine, GEMS also operates a number of coal mines in South and Central Kalimantan.

The company said that its coal mining subsidiary PT Borneo Indobara (BIB) has also completed the construction of infrastructure facilities at the Bunati Port in Tanah Bumbu Regency, South Kalimantan.

Construction of a newline conveyor was completed in March of this year. The facility has a capacity of 12 million tons per annum out loading into barge (shipment).

Construction of a telescopic chute at the BIB coal terminal was also completed in March.

It added that the inaugural Cape Size Vessel shipment with a capacity of 150,000-160,000 metric tons was made in April of this year.
