IDX-listed coal mining firm PT Golden Energy Mines Tbk (GEMS) is currently completing the capacity expansion of its coal conveyor facility at the Bunati port, which is located near the coal mining concession of subsidiary Borneo Indo Bara (BIB) in Tanah Bumbun Regency, South Kalimantan.
The capacity is being increased to 2,000 tons per hour. ?We target that the capacity expansion of the conveyor will be completed in June of this year,? GEMS Corporate Secretary, Sudin told Petromindo.com Tuesday.
He said that the capacity expansion of the conveyor is to accommodate the planned gradual increase in the production capacity of BIB to 4-12 million tons per year.
In addition to concessions in South Kalimanta, GEMS, which is controlled by the diversified Sinar Mas Group, owns coal concessions in Jambi and Central Kalimantan.
