Indonesia-listed coal producer PT Golden Energy Mines remains on course to producing 6 million tons of coal throughout the year despite unfavorable coal market condition.
"Our production is on schedule to reach 6 million tons of coal from our mine site in South Kalimantan and Jambi," Robin Alimutomo, Vice President of Marketing and Trading, told petromindo.com on the sidelines of Indonesia Coal Prices Trend and Market Outlook Seminar in Jakarta Monday.
The coal price slump has yet to affect the company in finding buyers, with Robin adding that about 4 million tons of the production is exported to India, while the rest to China and Thailand.
In coping with the ongoing bearish coal market condition, the company is adopting efficiency in its operation in addition to conducting price re-negotiation with buyers.
Robin added that the company is still monitoring the market condition before it sets production target for 2013.
