Malaysia?s Genting Oil Kasuri Pte Ltd (GOKPL), operator of the Kasuri block in Papua Province, said that a farm-in process is still in progress and several companies have expressed interest to become partner in developing the block.
?We currently own 100 percent of Kasuri block. There are several candidates which are interested (to become partner in the block),? External Affairs Manager of GOKPL Listriyanto told Petromindo.com on Wednesday, adding that this will become a factor in later selecting the block?s plan of development (POD) scenario.
Listriyanto said that most of the companies participating in the farm-in process are domestic firms, but declined to disclose their identity.
Last week, Deputy Chairman of upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas, Zikrullah said that the revised Kasuri block POD was still being finalized, and was expected to be completed end of January. He said that once the POD has been approved by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, it would be immediately followed with the signing of the gas sales agreement (GSA).
GOKPL owns 100 percent of Kasuri block. According to Director General of Oil and Gas at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources IGN Wiratmaja Puja, the company has found P1 gas reserves of 1.8 tcf.
