Genting Oil to build coal-fired power plant in Banten

Malaysia?s Genting Oil is diversifying its business portfolio in Indonesia as the company is set to develop a 600 MW coal-fired power plant in Serang, Banten.
Helmi Najamuddin, Head of Cal Division at state-owned electricity firm PLN, told Petromindo.com Monday that his company would purchase the electricity from the power plant, which is expected to be on stream next year.
?The coal supplier has yet to be determined,? Helmi said. Nara Nilandaroe, General Manager at Genting Oil, confirmed the power plant project developed by PT Lestari Banten Energy, a unit of Genting Energy.
