Genting plans 3D seismic at Papua block

Malaysian oil, gas firm Genting Oil is planning to conduct seismic survey at its Kasuri PSC block, West Papua.
According to the company?s tender announcement, it would conduct 200-km2 (surface footprint) of 3D seismic within the block, which is scheduled to begin on or about the end of first quarter of 2011.
Genting has 100 percent stake in the block, which was awarded in 2008.
According to the company?s website, the Block is located onshore the Bomberai Peninsula. The block surrounds and includes the Tangguh LNG Plant, where gas from the immediate vicinity can be processed. The Kasuri Block is gas-prone and Genting has defined several prospects and leads that are expected to contain gas in the various Pre-Tertiary reservoirs that occur in the region.(alex)
