Kasuari block operated by Genting Oil Kasuri Ltd., a subsidiary of Malaysian oil and gas company Genting Oil Berhard, is projected to come onstream in 2018, according to a top of official at upstream authority SKK Migas.
?If there is (another) economic discovery made there, then the Kasuri block will come into production four years from now,? acting Chairman of SKK Migas J. Widjonarko said to Petromindo.com.
In its quarterly report released recently, the company stated it made gas discoveries at Asap and Merah fields in 2011 and 2013 respectively.
Widjonarko said currently the company still is continuing exploration activity at the block with exploration well drilling.
?There are already six exploration wells that have been drilled by the firm to date, and now the firm is evaluating (the results) for development plan,? he said, adding that there are indications of hydrocarbons discovered at the block and its content is being evaluated.
Genting has 100 percent interest in Kasuri block, which is adjacent to BP-operated Tangguh LNG plant.
An executive of the firm recently said the firm will submit a full Plan of Development (PoD) for the block in the fourth quarter of this year.
