Malaysian oil and gas company Genting Oil will submit a full Plan of Development (PoD) for its gas discovery West Papua to the government in the fourth quarter of this year.

Genting Oil Kasuri Pty General Manager Nara Nilandaroe told Petromindo.Com earlier this week that the company is currently carrying out 3D seismic to evaluate the size of Merah discovery, the results of which are expected in July 2014. The seismic is carried out by Bureau of Geophysical Prospecting.

Nara also said that in May of this year, Genting will conduct drill stem test on Asap 4X well.

According to Genting?s quarterly report released recently, the company has drilled 5 wells in Kasuri block, which led to the Asap and Merah Gas Discoveries in 2011 and 2013 respectively.

Genting has 100 percent interest in Kasuri block, which is adjacent to BP-operated Tangguh LNG plant.

Nara said that thus far there has been no talks between BP and Genting about the possibility of sending gas from Kasuri be processed at Tangguh, adding that one of the options of commercializing gas from the block would be to build an industrial complex within the area.
