SGX-listed Geo Energy Resources said that its South Kalimantan coal unit PT Sungai Danau Jaya (SDJ) as per March 31, 2016 has delivered a total of 485,000 tons of coal to a customer in the region.

?SDJ has commenced commercial production of its coal mine asset in December 2015 and the first shipment of 55,000 tons was delivered in January 2016,? Geo Energy said in a first quarter report seen Friday.

The group is targeting to produce more than 6 million tons of coal a year. SDJ holds two coal concessions in Tanah Bumbu Regency, South Kalimantan, with a combined area of 236.1 hectares, and contain coal with an average calorific value of 4,038 kcal/kg (GAR).

Geo Energy owns another coal mine run by subsidiary PT Bumi Enggang Khatulistiwa in Kutai Barat, East Kalimantan, but the group presently is focused on coal production in SDJ.
