Geodipa seeks to develop five more geothermal projects

State-owned PT Geodipa Energi has proposed to the government to develop five additional geothermal working areas with potential to produce combined power capacity of 305 MW.
Geodipa President Director Riki F. Ibrahim said to Petromindo.com on Thursday the five geothermal working areas are Gunung Gede Pangrango, in West Java (potential power capacity 55 MW), Ciremai, West Java (110 MW), Gunung Endut, Banten (40 MW), Bonjol, West Sumatra (60 MW) and Dananu Ranau, South Sumatra (40 MW).
"We have set up the target for all of the geothermal projects to be COD by 2025," he said, referring to commercial date of operation.
So far the company has assignment from the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources to develop a couple of geothermal working areas, such as Umbul Telomoyo with capacity 55 MW and Arjuno Welirang (110 MW) which are expected to have COD by 2025 as well.
Currently the company is operating Dieng unit 1 geothermal power plant with capacity of 60 MW in Central Java and Patuha geothermal power plant with 60 MW capacity as well in West Java.
