German investor shows interest in Asahan IV hydropower plant project

The plan to build an hydropower plant at the Asahan IV area in Tangga village, Bandar Pulau subdistrict, Asahan regency in North Sumatra has drawn the attention of an German investor, the Bisnis Indonesia newspaper reported in its Friday edition.

?Asahan IV has 70 km-long waterfall, which is expected to generate 80 megawatt electricity,? project public relation officer Eddy Syofian said in Medan, North Sumatra on Thursday.

Eddy said the investor, which he did not name, had made an observation of the area and was studying the observation result in Germany. (*)
