German?s Oiltanking Banten oil storage expected to commence ops 2008

German storage firm Oiltanking has secured land for its proposed oil storage and would soon start construction of the project, a government official said on Wednesday.

Erie Soedarmo, Director of Downstream and Processing at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources told Petromindo.Com that the company is expecting completion of the project by late 2007 or first of quarter of 2008, or one year than originally scheduled.

He said Oiltanking planned initial storage capacity of 40,000 kiloliters, ramping up to 120,000 kiloliters.

Oiltanking is one of the world?s leading independent storage partners for oils, chemicals and gases. Oiltanking owns and operates 71 terminals with a total storage capacity exceeding 11,1 million cubic meters in 19 countries. (alex)
