?Gian Mao? to ship coal from PKN

East Kalimantan low-rank coal producer Pesona Khatulistiwa Nusantara (PKN) said on Wednesday it is currently unloading 56,000 tons of coal to panamax vassel called ?Gian Mao?, a company official said.

Marketing Manager Joy W. Sugoto told Petromindo.Com the vessel started the unloading activity on Sept 7 and is expected to be completed on Sept 15-16.

PKN is using transhipper OBT-1, owned by Baramulti to unload the coal, he said.

The coal will be shipped to Southern part of China under a one year contract, he added. He did not give the name of the buyer.

PKN started commercial coal production in September last year. This year, the company is expected to produce 700,000 tons and to produce 2 million tons in 2011.

PKN is a unit of PT Bhakti Energi Persada (BEP). BEP has other three subsidiaries, namely Persada Multi Bara (PMB), Bumi Murau Coal (BMC) and Telen Eco Coal (TEC), which have total low-ranked coal reserves of 5.7 billion tons. (denny)
