GMR Airports seeks more Indonesia airport investments

India's GMR Airports Ltd. is seeking to expand its investments in Indonesia's airport sector and is ready to participate in future airport privatization or public-private partnership projects if opportunities are offered.
Business Chairman for International Airports and Energy Srinivas Bommidala said the company is interested in further investments following its partnership with state-owned PT Angkasa Pura II at Kualanamu International Airport in Medan.
"If the government opens opportunities for the private sector, we would be very interested in participating," Bommidala said.
GMR holds a 49% stake in PT Angkasa Pura Aviasi, the joint venture operating Kualanamu International Airport, while Angkasa Pura II owns the remaining 51%.
Bommidala said Indonesia is a strategic market for expanding connectivity between India and Southeast Asia, as both countries seek closer aviation links following agreements reached during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Jakarta in July.
