Golar short-listed for Jakarta floating LNG terminal project

Bermuda-based LNG solution firm Golar LNG Limited reported that it was one of the three parties remaining in the tender process to build a floating LNG storage and regasification in Jakarta for state oil and gas firm PT Pertamina (Persero) and state gas distribution firm PT PGN (Persero) consortium.

?The final evaluation of commercial bids is underway with an expectation of a final award decision in the near future,? the company said in Interim Result report released Friday.

The company did not disclose its two competitors.

The company reported in February 2010 that it received a PQ from the consortium for a ~3 MTPA offshore LNG receiving terminal.

The Company also said that another floating LNG receiving terminal by PGN to be build in Belawan, North Sumatra reached a positive project milestone with the appointment of Foster Wheeler as the Project Manager. ?The project appears on track for a Q4 2010 tender,? it said.

PGN is planning to build floating terminal with capacity of 1-2 MTPA. (alex)
