The company?s President Director, Fuganto Widjaya said that the company was targeting to acquire up to three coal concessions this year. The coal mines to be acquired should have coal reserves of more than 20 million tons with caloric value of above 5,000 kilo calorie (kcal) per kilogram.
Such a criteria should be met because other coal mines currently operated by Golden Energy has coal reserves with caloric value of at least 5,000 kcal per kilogram, he added.
?There are one to three coal concessions available for acquisition, but we are not sure yet if they meet the criteria,? he added.
Golden Energy, a subsidiary of PT Dian Swastika Sentosa Tbk, plans to increase its coal production to 7 million tons this year from about 5.5 million tons in 2012.
Golden Energy has three subsidiaries involved in coal production. They include PT Kuansing Inti Makmur, PT Trisula Kencana Sakti, and PT Borneo Indobara which operate coal mines respectively in Jambi, Central Kalimantan and South Kalimantan. (*)
