The development of 2x25 MW PLTU Anggrek-Gorontalo coal fired power plant in Gorontalo, which has been delayed because of land dispute, will soon commence.
In a visit on Tuesday to state owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN)?s Headquarters, Gorontalo Governor Rusli Habibie has assured his administration?s commitment to resolve the land issue so that PLN could go ahead with the power plant project.
?We are ready to help resolve the land dispute problem in the project?s location, as the public in Gorontalo is very keen on an improved electricity supply in our region,? Rusli said in a statement.
PLN President Director Nur Pamudji welcomed the initiative, saying this kind of gesture from a local government is what the company has been looking for every time one of its projects hits a snag. The Anggrek-Gorontalo power plant is a part of PLN?s first 10,000 MW crash program.
Pamudji said PLN has now appointed subsidiary PT Reka Daya Electrika to replace previous contractor for the project, which is now expected to resume construction in August. One of the two units of the plant is targeted to be in full-operation by early 2014 at the latest.
