Government appoints firms to supply biodiesel to Pertamina, AKR

The government has appointed 16 companies to supply palm oil-based biodiesel to state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina and IDX-listed fuel distributor PT AKR Corporindo Tbk, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Monday.

The paper quoted Director General of New and Renewable Energy at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Rida Mulyana as saying that the minister has issued Decree No 673K-12-DJE-2016 appointing the 16 firms to supply a combined 1.53 million kilo liters of palm oil-based biodiesel to Pertamina and AKR for the period of November 2016-April 2017.

Rida said that the supply volume is the same as the supply volume of the previous six months period of May-October 2016.

The firms that will supply biodiesel for Pertamina are PT Cemerlang Energi Perkasa, PT Wilmar Bioenergi Indonesia, PT Pelita Agung Agroindustri, PT Ciliandra Perkasa, PT Musim Mas, PT Darmex Biofuels, PT Energi Baharu Lestari, PT Wilmar Nabati Indonesia, PT Bayas Biofuels, PT LDC Indonesia, PT Smart Tbk, PT Tunas Baru Lampung, PT Multi Nabati Sulawesi, PT Permata Hijau Palm Oleo, PT Intibenua Parkasa Tama, and PT Batara Elok Semesta Terpadu.

Meanwhile, PT Musimas, PT Wilmar Nabati Indonesia, PT Wilmar Bioenergi Indonesia, PT LDC Indonesia, PT Smart Tbk, and PT Tunas Baru Lampung will also supply biodiesel to AKR.

Rida said that government subsidiary for biodiesel in the period of November 2016-April 2017 is projected to reach Rp 17 trillion. (*)
