Government guarantees six power plants in eastern Indonesia

Finance Minister Agus Martowardojo said the government has provided guarantees for at least six power plants to be developed by state utility company PT PLN in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) and East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) provinces, Kontan daily reported.
The six power plant projects are geothermal power plant PLTP Huu with capacity of 20 MW, steam power plant (PLTU) Sumbawa Baru with capacity of 2x10 MW, PLTP Sukoria with 5 MW, PLTP Atadei with output capacity of 5 MW, PLTU Larantuka with output capacity of 8 MW and PLTU Waingapu with capacity of 8 MW.
The minister said the guarantee letters are aimed at speeding up the development of the projects. (*)
