Government offers three oil, gas working areas to investors

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources announced on Monday the government is offering three non-conventional oil and gas working areas to investors via regular tender and direct offer mechanisms.

The ministry said in a statement the government is offering the 2,452 km2 Batuampar hydrocarbon shale block, onshore East Kalimantan, to investors via regular tender mechanism.

The statement said that access to bid document is scheduled on October 31, 2016-February 27, 2017; and clarification forum on November 4, 2016-February 27, 2017; while deadline for submitting participation document is set on February 27.

The ministry said that the two other working areas are being offered via direct offer mechanism including the 580.5 km2 Raja coal bed methane working area (onshore South Sumatra), and the 483.6 km2 Bungamas coal bed methane working area (onshore South Sumatra).

Access to bid document is scheduled on October 31-December 15, 2016; clarification forum on November 4-December 15, 2016, and deadline to submit participation document on December 15, 2016.

The ministry said that the government in the current tender and direct offer will implement a new mechanism in which participants are free in making offer for the production split percentage and the size of signature bonus, factors that would be included by the government in deciding the winning bidder.
