The government plans to build eight gas re-filling stations along the northern Java coast route to facilitate motorists amid ongoing push to switch from petroleum fuel to gas.

Bisnis Indonesia daily quoted Acting Director General of Oil and Gas I Gusti Nyoman Wiratmaja as saying that land acquisition process will start this year, in the hope that design and construction work can be implemented next year.

He acknowledged that land acquisition would be tough. The gas stations will be developed in Banten, Jakarta, Cirebon, and Surabaya regions.

He added that the projects will be funded via the state budget. Tender process has yet to start, he said. (*)
